1. The shooter is either evil or insane. Possibly both.
2. Expect the usual calls from the usual suspects for public safety measures that very clearly would not have stopped the shooting.
3. The situation that gun control advocates openly extol was, in fact, the situation on-the-ground when the shooting happened.
4. As of this writing, another 31,000 or so people have died, and many of their deaths (from crime, abortion, child abuse, other forms of murder, as well as automobile wrecks and other accidents, and so on) are every bit as tragic as the deaths of the dozen who were slain in the theater.
